Bring Spring to Your Child’s Bedroom
Make this spring eggstra special for your children with a bedroom update. It doesn’t have to be major – perhaps just a few touches to welcome the new season. Here are some ideas:
Pops of colour. The easiest way to freshen up a room is colour. Choose one of your child’s favourite colours – broaden their horizons by showing them some colours they may not have considered – and then paint a single wall or the back panel of bookcases. Don’t forget accessories! Lampshades, a vase, a poster, a small rug – there are lots of colourful options.
Fresh flowers. Be honest. Do we ever treat our children to flowers in their room? Spring is the perfect time to start. Add a vase of tulips, daffodils or daisies. Perhaps a growing plant as well – you may have a young gardener in your midst.
Bed linens and throw pillows. Pamper your child with a new bedding including fresh sheets for the new season. Or how about new throw pillows? The latest trends are bright patterns, nature-inspired, word message pillows and faux fur – there’s an infinite variety. For a fun project, buy a basic throw pillow, some felt, ribbons and bling – and create your own unique design together.
Poufs for seating. Poufs are ideal for kids’ rooms – they’re small, portable, inexpensive and very trendy! Add a couple; maybe even create a mini-sitting area with a small table.
New laundry hamper. Is there any way to make kids put their dirty clothes in the hamper?! Maybe a new hamper for the season would help. No reason it has to be white – paint it a bright colour or soft pastel, even hand draw flowers, stripes or polka dots on it.
