Hey everyone, I’m Laura from wellingtonandgrey.com. I’m honoured to be a guest blogger for Stoney Creek Furniture on this National Sleep Day to bring you ten tips to have your best sleep ever! I’m hoping all of you have adjusted to losing an hour of sleep last Saturday. And with Spring just around the corner (at least it better be), this is the perfect time for you to think about some spring cleaning and freshening up of your home, and how to make your bedroom super sleep friendly. Stoney Creek Furniture has the perfect products for you to achieve the most zzz’s. Here are my tips!
1. Make your bed. Every morning make it a habit to make your bed (just like your mama taught you)! It will instantly pull your room together and create an inviting space for you to look forward to that evening.
2. Invest in a quality mattress. Stoney Creek Furniture has a full selection of comfort levels like pillow top mattresses, memory foam mattresses, firm mattresses, innerspring mattresses, and adjustable beds ~ you’ll definitely find the perfect mattress just for you. They also have this handy guide to help you make the right choice!
3. Lower the temperature of your bedroom, to about 60-67 degrees.* You can always have an accent blanket or two to use for those chillier evenings.
4. Keep your bedroom clutter-free and focused on sleep. I’m loving this Jofran Chest (#6) which can store extra blankets and books, and also features practical power ports.
5. Set up the right lighting, such as bedside lamps. These beautiful lamps from Renwil (#2) would be the perfect accent for your room.
6. Have cozy, comfortable bedding. Stoney Creek Furniture has a new line of bedding called Brunelli, as well as so many stylish pillows and blankets (#7). How cute are these adorable accent pillows! (#4).
7. Love your decor! I personally prefer a calm palette of whites and light blues for my bedroom, and I reserve hints of colour for accent pillows or wall art. These large prints from Renwil at Stoney Creek Furniture (#3) would add that perfect pop of colour, in this case gold!
8. Put yourself on a sleep schedule. Put yourself on a sleep schedule. You should stick to a sleep schedule of the same bedtime and wake up time, even on the weekends. (I heard that collective groan!) But this will help to regulate your body’s clock, and help you go to sleep and stay asleep all night.* And to help you keep track of the time, why not hang a beautiful vintage clock in your room? (#5)
9. Put away your electronics! Stop scrolling and start sleeping, or do a screen-free activity, such as reading or stretching, before crawling under the covers.
10. Have a fully functional nightstand that services all your night time needs. This Weatherford nightstand from Kincaid (#1) has tons of storage for your books and magazines, as well as a power ports. How cool is that? Beautiful and functional.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these tips to have your best sleep. Now ideally for me, this list would include sleeping in until at least past 6am every day, but it’s just not possible with my two little ones at home. Anyone with me on this?! For now, I’ll be making my bed and getting a great night’s sleep, especially on National Sleep Day. Sweet dreams, friends!
